MannahattaMamma started in 2008 when I realized that Sarah Palin and I were both PTA Presidents, which meant I was about as qualified to be VP as she was. I write about politics, particularly in terms of education and public schools; and about feminism; but mostly I write about family life in Manhattan, which is both the best and the worst place in the world to raise kids. Anything is fair game for the blog, from the difficulty of explaining the birds and the bees to an 8 year old boy to a discussion of why more standardized testing isn't the answer to problems in public education, to a rave review of the latest book I'm reading.
