Michael Jackson used to be one of the funkiest dudes on the planet. Then he became one of the weirdest. So weird, in fact, that he had to ditch his home, also known as the Neverland Ranch theme park, and hightail it to Bahrain after molestation charges dogged him wherever he went in the United States. …

  3. Tricky Exposes His Roots, Crowdsources Remixes

    http://blog.wired.com/music/2008/05/want-a-free-pou.html

    My Chemical Toilet

isn't music news as such. But, if true, it'll have an impact on a fair number of music fans. Rumours are floating about that music aggregator The Hype Machine is to be sold for in the region of $10m to - depending on who you believe - Viacom or, er, someone else. The Hype Machine aggregates MP3s posted by innumerable music blogs and collects them together so that you, the reader/listener, can enjoy them from one place. Warner Music to Charge Variable Prices

    http://mojo-ramblings.blogspot.com/2008/05/warner-music-to-c...

I was reading one of Wired Magazine's Blog today. Warner is going to start a test that will alter the price of songs on some online music stores to reflect supply and demand. Sales data will be gathered real-time and set prices where consumer demand and market potential meet.

    Why DRM sucks, part 32987

t be able to go through the process anymore. Microsoft is pulling the plug on the service (in favor of Zune’s music store). So whatever you have on August 31, you are stuck with… hoping nothing happens to your device. Sony did this before with Sony Connect, and good riddance. So how do you get around it? The only solution is to burn a CD/several CDs with your downloads, and then (re-)rip them to MP3 format, or another format compatible with your player. It’s a suboptimal solution, as your downloads are already compressed
