So how does this happen? I mean… I know how it happened in the macro sense, but how did this specifically happen? Was the car underwater? Did she rear-end a hay truck with a plaid wearing farmer on it? Click picture for larger version. It looks to me like a scarecrow crawled into the engine compartment and exploded.

    What’s going on?

    http://clairesmusic.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/whats-going-on/
72 days ago in Listen to this · Authority: 3

What is going on with all of these natural disaters recently? Are they natural or what is causing them? My initial thought was that the media was just shedding more light on the events of the world. Some people say we’re living in the “end times.” Even if there’s no explanation for what is going on, and it is just “natural,” … it just shows us how quickly everything we’ve worked for in this life can be taken away. The most recent to make headlines is the 7.9 magnitude earthquake in western China where over 12,000 people have died according to the Xinhua News Agency. The earthquake is said to be one of the deadliest China has seen in the past three decades and 18,645 people are still buried under debris. [Update 5/16/08: The Chinese government has upated the death toll to 21,500.] On May 3, Cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar devastating the country. Official reports from Myanmar’s junta say that 31, 938 people have died with over 33,000 missing, but the U.N. estimates there could be as many as 100,000 people dead or missing. [Update 5/16/08: The number of deaths in Myanmar has now reached 77,738] On Saturday and Sunday, a huge storm and resulting tornadoes killed 23 people and injured hundreds across three states in the US. A recent news story on FOXNews.com says that all the natural disasters are perfectly normal. “Mother Nature is just reminding us that she is in charge,” Bill Patzert, a climatologist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., told LiveScience. The appearance of a cluster It might look and feel like the recent disasters worldwide are a cluster of events that could be related, but scientists say they aren’t. “It’s totally random,” said Peter Kelemen, a geologist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in New York. More disasters than usual? The number of reported natural disasters globally has been on a fast rise since the 1960s. EM-DAT disasters are up from about 120 in 1980 to more than 400 in 2007. But the increase has nothing to do with the planet. Rather, the rise is the result better monitoring and reporting of natural disasters, said Charles Mandeville, a volcanologist at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. And the actual number of people killed worldwide by natural disasters has been relatively small (under 500,000 per year) since the 1960s, compared to previous decades in the 20th Century, when death tolls sometimes exceeded 2 million or even 3 million, according to EM-DAT. That drop is the due to better building codes and preparation, Mandeville said.

    I'm Getting Excited

    http://kimscheer.blogspot.com/2008/05/im-getting-excited.htm...
    72 days ago in Kim's Cheer · Authority: 2

There is something great and mighty about to happen. I experienced something yesterday and today that I cannot explain but I'm going to try. It all started at church yesterday. I saw with my eyes the miraculous strength of the Lord - beyond human strength (I can't give details but trust me it was a visible watching of the strength of the Lord overtaking someone and becoming their strength when they were at their weakest). God spoke something into my spirit about this observation of how He is going to always be there even in our darkest hour. His grace will and does under-gird us in every trying situation life throws our way. Then today when reading the news I was so aware of all the major tragedies in the past week (Massive quake kills thousands in China; Search for survivors after deadly twisters; Monks aid cyclone victims) that I started thinking on the scripture about looking up so I searched for it on BibleGateway.com. I'm not familiar with this passage in Luke so much so that I had to look it up in my Bible to make sure it was the King James Version but look at the major points that spoke to me: be not terrifiedit shall turn to you for a testimonySettle it therefore in your heartsThere shall not an hair of your head perishIn your patience possess ye your souls. look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Wow! God's word is so powerful and gives such encouragement. I don't know how and I don't know when but something glorious from Heaven is about to bust wide open. I'm looking up! Read the whole passage below if you like. Luke 21:7-28 7And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? 8And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. 9But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. 10Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. 16And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. 18But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19In your patience possess ye your souls. 20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. 25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
