Ravens Mini-Camp Fracas Involves Entire Team The Baltimore Ravens went 5-11 last year and were the only team in the league to lose to the Dolphins. Now, with a new head coach in John Harbaugh, the Ravens are eager to pummel the only opponents they have

PSYCH The Ravens' 85 man brawl is exactly the type of stuff that makes mini-camp interesting. Do I really give a shit who Oniel Cousins, Amon Gordon, Allen Patrick, Corey Ivy and Frank Walker are? Fuck and No. But they get a whole hell of a lot more interesting when they're trying to kill each other over a roster spot. I'd rather see this on the NFL network than reruns of previous NFL drafts and Texans/Dolphins games. This could be a hit reality show. Or not. While we're on it, here are some other things I'd like to see on NFL Network: Michael Vick's prison gamesTecmo Bowl re-enactments of 80's playoff gamesAll cheerleader tryouts/calendar shootsPeter King trying to put his life together after Brett Favre retiredAlbert Haynesworth stepping on Chris Berman's throat

THE RAVENS HAVE GREAT TEAM CHEMISTRY

    http://www.withleather.com/post.phtml?pk=5730

The Baltimore Ravens are enjoying off-season workouts free from the incompetent reign of deposed egomaniac Brian Billick, and you know what that means: 80-player brawls! Nearly everyone at the Ravens' minicamp joined the fray after linemen Oniel Cousins and Amon Gordon came to blows; later, defensive backs Corey Ivy and Frank Walker tussled during a blocking drill. This all, of course, is part of coach John Harbaugh's master plan. In a way, that’s how Harbaugh likes it. Seeing two players fight on the practice field is nothing new, but to have the rest of the team join the fray is a sight not often seen on the football field. Yet none of the coaches immediately sought to restore peace, and defensive coordinator Rex Ryan was actually laughing as he stood in the background... “We had a good practice. Our guys are competitive, they like football, it’s going to happen,” [Harbaugh] said. “I think as they realize the tempo of the practice is going to stay the same, it will probably happen less and less. They’re a feisty bunch.” Yes... "feisty." Harbaugh also described linebacker/associate to murder Ray Lewis as "lovable scamp," and the city of Baltimore as a "real fixer-upper."

    Making The Monday Rounds...

    http://rockstarforhire.blogspot.com/2008/05/making-monday-ro...

Another Monday means one week closer to opening day. Step links for Steelers news.... Over the weekend Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was the commencement speaker for this year's graduating class at St. Vincent College. This makes me so jealous not only because terrible towels were twirling during a commencement ceremony, but my commencement speaker was the Senator of Delaware, Joe Biden. Biden was so terrible that he was booed at various points during his speech. I will forever hate that guy. Woodley and Timmons must have been reading One For The Other Thumb. Its time to step up big time this year gentlemen. The Sporting News' power rankings have the Steelers at #7 and the Browns at #9. Obviously they didn't hear that the Browns signed Shaun Rogers and Donte' Stallworth......CHAMPIONSHIP! Santonio Holmes is ranked number five for wide receivers under the age of 25 by Sporting News. My homeboy Santonio is about to break out big time in 2008, don't forget that Santonio has been known to choke a bitch. Brian Baldinger and his extremely freaky pinky finger reports from Steelers mini-camp. The video features Hines Ward (wearing one of those leather throw back helmets) as well as Fast Willie, Rashard Mendenhall, Limas Sweed, and a look through the Steelers trophy collection. James Farrior will wear the new radio communication receiver in his helmet, which means he will be the only one on the defense with that silly green dot on his helmet. Willie McGinest will not be there to see Brady Quinn take over the NFL. $10,000 Big Ben bobblehead...not kidding Ravens are fighting each other. Bowen, this link is for you. Bury me in this!

John Harbaugh Runs A Tight Ship [FIGHT CAMP]

This is the first year the Ravens have held minicamp in 10 years without choking on the fumes of Brian Billick’s smug. One thing remains unchanged: the complete disorder. It just wouldn’t be the Ravens without it. Nearly all of the 85 players in camp were involved in a brawl yesterday that started with an offensive and defensive tackle getting in a dust-up after a hard tackle on a running play up the middle. But, hey, no stabbings! It’s a new day! In a way, that’s how Harbaugh likes it. Seeing two players fight on the practice field is nothing new, but to have the rest of the team join the fray is a sight not often seen on the football field. Yet none of the coaches immediately sought to restore peace, and defensive coordinator Rex Ryan was actually laughing as he stood in the background. Sure, that would be the same Rex Ryan who was passed over for the Ravens’ head coaching job. I’d be laughing too if my inexperienced successor had already made a hash of things during his first minicamp. That and Ryan generally has the same shit-eating grin on his face at all times.

Brawl Breaks Out At Ravens Minicamp

    http://knowhuddle.com/WP/?p=510
    74 days ago in knowhuddle.com · Authority: 17

The Ravens are doing more than merely fighting for jobs at their first mandatory minicamp under new coach John Harbaugh. They’re fighting each other, too. Nearly all 85 players in camp were involved in a squabble Saturday that began when OT Oniel Cousins and DT Amon Gordon threw punches after RB Allen Patrick was taken down hard on a burst up the middle. All the players surged toward the middle of the field, and it was nearly two minutes before peace was restored. Later during practice, which was held indoors because of rain, CB’s Corey Ivy and Frank Walker came to blows during a blocking drill. “Don’t grab me, man!” Ivy yelled. After the players were separated, veteran CB’s Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle spoke with Walker, who signed as a free agent during the offseason after playing with Green Bay in 2007. “Chill out, man,” Rolle said. “There’s too much at stake.” For the first time in a decade, the Ravens are conducting a minicamp without Brian Billick, who was fired in January after a nine-year run. There are jobs at stake and a new offense to learn under Cam Cameron, which has fueled emotions at the three-day camp that started Friday. The players aren’t wearing pads, but there’s plenty of hitting going on-much of it after the whistle. “Man, it’s intense out there,” tight end Todd Heap said. “Everybody’s trying to learn what’s going on and everybody’s a little bit on edge.” Source

Telegram.com: | 05/11/2008 | Roy's loss of heart leaves him a misfit with Dallas Cowboys

    http://ballhype.com/story/telegram_com_05_11_2008_roys_loss_...

The Roy Williams that I remember cast an intimidating defensive presence. He terrorized quarterbacks. He stopped ball carriers in their tracks. He could single-handedly dominate even an Oklahoma-Texas game. Whatever happened to that Roy Williams? His name came up on Sirius Radio's NFL channel last week, and it wasn't the kind of blurb that you print out and show your mom for Mother's Day. ...
