    Executive power vs. Executing power

    http://0z.se/2008/05/09/executive-power-vs-execute-power/

Power-sharing is in most situations a very compelling property of western democracies. It can however be a huge problem in a crises situation as in 2004, during the tsunami. When the victims price is huge, the cost for the community small and the time frame for action minimal power-sharing doesn’t deliver. At this point all executive power in one hand would be the optimal. Not quite true! In Myanmar all executive power is in one hand, but the people could not possibly be worse off. The executive power is instead of helping its people practically executing it—on a large scale. [SvD] [IHT] [DN] [Ab]
